Aladdin Granted Significant European Patent for Real-Time Web Threat Inspection

CHICAGO, November 28, 2006 - Aladdin Knowledge Systems (NASDAQ: ALDN), the leader in Software DRM, identity management and content security solutions, today announced it was awarded European Patent EP 1122932, titled "Protection of computer networks against malicious content." Granted on August 9th, the new patent significantly strengthens the intellectual property portfolio surrounding the Aladdin eSafe™ content security solution and its unique NitroInspection™ technology. Europe remains a key market for Aladdin, underscoring the importance of protecting Aladdin's intellectual property throughout European Union countries.

EP 1122932 is directed to content security gateways that relay data packets in real time, while performing full content inspection without introducing delays and latencies. In case of unsafe content, it can be blocked, stripped or replaced by other safe content. Using this patented technology, the Aladdin eSafe NitroInspection technology can perform 10 times faster than the competition. Unlike proxy solutions, NitroInspection does not cache content prior to inspection.
