New Internet security center sheds light on the business of eCrime and delivers
predictive business intelligence to protect organizations from future Web threats
CHICAGO, October 15, 2008 - Aladdin Knowledge
Systems (NASDAQ:
ALDN),
an information security leader specializing in authentication, software DRM and
content security, today announced the launch of the Aladdin
Attack Intelligence Research Center, a premier
facility for Internet security cybercrime investigation.
Based at Aladdin's headquarters in Israel, the Attack Intelligence Research Center
is comprised of global security researchers and law enforcement and cybercrime specialists
dedicated to delivering security data and intelligence that educates, supports and
strengthens the security community, and drives innovation in Aladdin's content security
solutions.
Spearheaded by forensic Web specialist Ian Amit (see photo), director of security
research at Aladdin Knowledge Systems, the Center steps beyond traditional threat
detection to provide business intelligence surrounding evolving threats, predict
future trends in Internet security, and uncover the inner workings and affects of
the business of eCrime. The findings enable organizations to implement best practices
and build corporate policy to protect against zero-hour and future Internet threats
that compromise legitimate business safety.
"Discovering malware is only half the battle — our mission is to go beyond threat
detection and malicious code to identify where the threat came from, who is benefitting
from it, and how threats ultimately affect real organizations today and in the future,"
said Amit. "It is only through the understanding of how these threats are developed
and delivered that we can protect our businesses today, and become educated and
better prepared for tomorrow."
With more than 10 years of experience in the information security industry, Amit
brings a mixture of software development, OS, network and Web security expertise
to Aladdin. Prior to Aladdin, he held a director position at a global Internet security
company, leading its security research group. Amit was also the founder and CTO
of a security startup in the IDS/IPS arena and developed new techniques for attack
interception. Prior to that, he served in a director position at Datavantage responsible
for software development, information security as well designing and building a
financial Datacenter. Amit holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Business
Administration from the Interdisciplinary Center at Herzlya.
